## What is Lloyd Parkrun? Lloyd parkrun is a free, weekly 5km event that takes place every Saturday morning at 9am in Lloyd Park, Croydon. Part of the global parkrun movement, it welcomes everyone regardless of pace or ability - you can run, jog, or walk the course. Many people walk the entire route, and volunteers are stationed around the course to encourage participants. The event promotes both physical and mental health through regular exercise and community connection. Many participants describe parkrun as the highlight of their week, with the routine and social aspect providing valuable structure and connection. ## Who Can Use Lloyd Parkrun? Everyone is welcome. There's no pressure to be fast - the emphasis is on getting moving, enjoying the outdoors, and being part of a community. You can run, jog, or walk. Children can take part too (under 11s must be accompanied by an adult). You can also volunteer at events - roles include marshalling, timekeeping, and barcode scanning. You don't need any special equipment - just comfortable clothes and shoes. ## How Do I Access Lloyd Parkrun? To take part, register once (free, for life) at parkrun.org.uk and print your barcode, which you bring each week to have your time recorded. Lloyd parkrun takes place at Lloyd Park, Coombe Road, Croydon CR0 5RA, starting and finishing near the Coombe Road entrance. Just turn up before 9am on any Saturday. ## What Should I Expect? A friendly, inclusive event where regulars often stick around afterwards for coffee and a chat. The course runs through Lloyd Park - a beautiful green space.
