APCMH Croydon: Free Wellbeing & Mental Health Service in Croydon
## What is APCMH Croydon? APCMH Croydon (Croydon Association of Pastoral Care and Mental Health) is a charity founded in 1988 by families concerned that their relatives experiencing mental health problems were not receiving adequate spiritual and pastoral care. Their mission is to enhance the quality of life, self-respect, and spiritual growth of anyone from the local community affected by mental health or emotional difficulties. They run 'The Link' - a programme of activities including drop-ins, workshops, and groups. At APCMH, the focus is on individuals rather than their mental health status, striving to help everyone feel more active, inspired, and valued in the community. ## Who Can Use APCMH Croydon? Although APCMH was founded by the Christian community and maintains its pastoral care ethos, they are open to everyone and welcome people from all faiths and backgrounds, as well as those with no faith. The service welcomes anybody who has or is recovering from mental illness or distress. You don't need a diagnosis or referral - simply turn up to any of their drop-in sessions or activities. ## How Do I Access APCMH Croydon? They hold weekly drop-in sessions at St Mildred's Community Centre, 30 Bingham Road, Croydon, CR0 7EB, and at two other locations. Contact them on **020 8654 4010** for details of current sessions and activities, or visit apcmhcroydon.co.uk. Simply turn up during drop-in times - no appointment needed. ## What Should I Expect? Drop-in sessions offer a welcome in a friendly, non-clinical environment. You might enjoy tea and conversation, take part in creative workshops, or simply spend time with others who understand. APCMH offers practical support to help people manage their daily lives alongside creative activities and social connection. The atmosphere is warm and accepting. All services are free.
